Wordpress is an open source content management blog publishing application. Presently, Wordpress can also be used for small content management websites, but they are best known for blogs. Word Press is extremely user friendly, provides hugh support , oodles of add-ons and free wordpress templates for download and customization.

Drupal is an open source content management website and blog publishing application. But then Drupal is best suited for websites.

Both the above open source software runs on PHP and MySQL back end.
